Complaints procedure

Content required before launch

This page is mandatory. The structure below is correct; the detail must be supplied by the firm and checked against the current SRA and Legal Ombudsman requirements before publication.

If something has gone wrong

We want to know. Most concerns are resolved quickly and informally by speaking to the person handling your matter.

How to complain

[Named complaints handler, postal address, email address and telephone number.]

What happens next

[Acknowledgement period, investigation period, and the point at which a final written response is issued. Must not exceed eight weeks.]

If you remain unhappy

[Legal Ombudsman address, telephone, email and website, together with the time limits: normally within six months of our final response, and within one year of the act complained of or of when you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint.]

Complaints about our bill

[Right to apply for assessment of the bill under Part III of the Solicitors Act 1974.]

The SRA

[Where conduct rather than service is the concern, how to report to the Solicitors Regulation Authority.]
